cold1 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 HiI'm trying to recover my Amilo D (7800) p4 laptop (OEM XP Home). It ONLY seems to be able to read the OEM recovery CD which came with the computer. It will not boot from any other bootable CD (It won't even read another CD when in DOS!). This OEM CD does not have Recovery Console or the option to 'Repair' the XP installation. Is there a way to slipstream a new CD which will have the 'repair' option (and SP2) so I can get this computer running? I don't know, but I suspect, there is an inbuild driver to the OEM CD to get it to boot. Does this sound correct? (The CD player is a Mats***a (Panasonic) UJDA720.Any help would be greatly appreciated.ColD
Jeremy Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 If you have an original XPCD you can use nLite to integrate SP2 and RyanVM's Post-SP2 Update Pack, and all your device drivers if you have backups. This should allow you to repair an existing XP installation.
