996 Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 I'M re-installing XP on a machine and since I am too lazy to enter all the account details by hand again I wanted to know where Outlook 2002 stores them?aah wrong forum..sorry
Aaron Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 Tried importing the PST file that's stored in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst ?
jayroller Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 M$'s own personal folders backup add-in for outlook can be found here, with a choice for outlook 2000+2002, or 2003.
GreenMachine Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 The MS program only backs up the data, not the mail settings. Look at www.slipstick.com for extensive Outlook information. If she ain't got it, you'll have trouble finding it.
996 Posted September 25, 2003 Author Posted September 25, 2003 thanx for all the help! slipstick is one very cool site too!i found that outlook only stores contacts and messages in outlook.pst. account data is stored in the registry. I've found a proggy called Outback Plus which allows backing up all settings in outlook (including accounts). It already supports Outlook 2003 as well and allows some IE settings to be backed up also.http://www.ajsystems.com/obp4.html
