I have a new computer and my printer (HP Laserjet 1100) has a parallel connection and does not fit. Is there a way to convert the printer connection to a USB connection? Thanks

This is the answer I received from HP. Will your first suggestion work? Thanks, David

The HP LaserJet 1100 Printer has an IEEE-1284 Type C parallel connector.

HP does not have a cable or an adapter that will work with your new computer. It is possible that you will be able to find a third party cable or adapter. Please note that HP does not test or support third party products. My suggestion is that you search the internet for the cable or an adapter. Here is some additional information you will need in order to get the correct cable or adapter.

One end needs to be "USB" to connect to your computer. The end that connects to the printer needs to be an IEEE-1284 parallel port (C connector). The "C connector" part of this is very important, as there are other types of parallel cables and adapter.
