Featured Replies

For Christmas I received a Zune mp3 player, and for the software to work I need media center edition verion 2005, but I currently have the 2002 version. Does anyone know where and how I can upgrade to the 2005 version, preferably for free? Pleaaase help! :blushing:

If you right-click on My Computer>Properties>General, it will say Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002. That does not mean you DON'T have MCE 2005. It's just the version of XP thats 2002.

To view what version of Media Center you have , startup Media Center and go to Settings>>General>About Media

Center>>Software Version. Remember: check this within Media Center, not XP. Here's a screenshot of what you will see:

Upgrades from earlier versions of MCE were only available through the manufacturers. You can convert an OEM copy of MCE 2005 into an upgrade version by modifying setupp.ini.
