katalyst^
With nLite 1.2.1 and 1.3 beta, I am having problems getting infrared working properly. I have not removed infrared, but for some reason my infrared port won't work properly, and I get the error messageWindows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19).Is there some other component that infrared depends upon that I might have removed?[Components];# Applications #Accessibility OptionsBriefcaseClipBook ViewerDefragmenterGamesInternet GamesNT BackupPaintPinballScreensaversWordpad;# Drivers #Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)Display AdaptersDisplay Adapters (old)Ethernet (LAN)IBM PS/2 TrackPointIBM ThinkpadISDNLogitech WingManMicrosoft SideWinderModemsMultiFunctionalPortable AudioScannersSerial Pen TabletSony Jog DialSound ControllersTape drivesToshiba DVD decoder cardWireless Ethernet (WLAN);# Hardware Support #AGP filtersALI 1535 SMBus Host ControllerALI IDE ControllerATM SupportBrother DevicesCMD PCI IDE ControllerCPU AMDCPU Transmeta CrusoeFloppy SupportGravis Digital GamePortIntel PCI IDE ControllerIomega Zip driveJoystick SupportMulti-port serial adaptersPorts (COM and LPT)Smart CardsSony Memory StickToshiba PCI IDE ControllerUSB Audio supportUSB EthernetUSB Video Capture devicesVIA PCI IDE ControllerWindows CE USB Host;# Multimedia #Acm Core CodecsActiveX for streaming videoAOL ART Image Format SupportDirectX diagnostic toolImages and BackgroundsIntel Indeo codecsLuna desktop themeMedia CenterMIDI audio supportMouse CursorsMovie MakerMusic SamplesOld CDPlayer and Sound RecorderSpeech SupportTablet PCWindows Media PlayerWindows Media Player 6.4Windows Sounds;# Network #Active Directory serviceClient for Netware NetworksCommunication toolsComtrol Test Terminal ProgramConnection ManagerDial-up and VPN supportFrontPage ExtensionsH323 MSPInternet Connection WizardInternet Information Services (IIS)IP ConferencingMAC BridgeMSMail and MAPIMSN ExplorerNetmeetingNetwork Monitor Driver and ToolsNetwork Setup WizardNWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS ProtocolPeer-to-PeerSynchronization ManagerTAPI Application SupportTCP/IP Version 6Vector Graphics Rendering (VML)Web FoldersWindows Messenger;# Operating System Options #.NET Framework16-bit supportAdministrator VB scriptsApplication compatibility patchAuditing Resource DllsBlaster/Nachi removal toolCertificate ManagementColor SchemesDesktop Cleanup WizardDisk and Profile QuotaDisk CleanupDocument TemplatesDR WatsonExtensible Storage Engine (Esent97)FAT to NTFS converterFile and Settings WizardHelp and SupportLogon NotificationsManual Install and UpgradeMS AgentOut of Box Experience (OOBE)Private Character EditorRemote Installation Services (RIS)Save Dump UtilitySearch AssistantSecurity CenterService Pack MessagesShell Media HandlerTourUser account picturesVisual Basic Scripting supportWeb View;# Services #AlerterApplication Layer GatewayAutomatic UpdatesBackground Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)Beep DriverCOM+DHCP ClientDistributed Link Tracking ClientDistributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC)DNS ClientError ReportingFax ServiceHTTP SSLIMAPI CD-Burning COM ServiceIndexing ServiceInternet Authentication (IAS)IPSEC Policy AgentMessage Queuing (MSMQ)MessengerNetwork DDENetwork Location Awareness (NLA)Network ProvisioningPerformance Logs and AlertsProtected StorageQoS RSVPQuality of Service (QoS)Remote RegistryRemovable StorageSecondary LogonService Advertising ProtocolSNMPSystem Event Notification (SENS)System MonitorSystem Restore ServiceTask SchedulerTCP/IP NetBIOS HelperTerminal ServicesUninterruptible Power SupplyUniversal Plug and Play Device HostVolume Shadow CopyWebClientWindows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS);# Directories #DOCSSUPPORTVALUEADD;# Compatibility #
katalyst^
Nevermind - I think the offending component was Ports (COM and LPT). I left it in and now infrared works.
Speeddymon
Nevermind - I think the offending component was Ports (COM and LPT). I left it in and now infrared works.Definitely.. IR typically uses what used to be known as Serial port #2 (aka COM2).
