ATI/AMD Catalyst 6.12

Featured Replies

It seems this version of Catalyst is a different kind of beast than the last one. I've been looking at other threads about this, namely this one. My current Catalyst works fine, but I'd like to install this latest version. I did a little test, I don't know how revealing it really is, but I have to assume that the same mechanisms for installing drivers in windows are used for setup. I tried to install from the device manager. Instead of a 2KXP_INF folder, there's $OUTDIR, which has all the files that 2KXP_INF has except there's no subfolders. The Wizard asked me where ati2mtag.sys is. This doesn't look like a very good sign for an unattended install! Does anyone know how to install this via WINNT.SIF? I don't want to do it any other way, if I can help it.

thanx

Oh, also, is there a way to only install the CCC if an ATI card was detected?

Don't unpack manually the .exe, launch the setup and click cancel at the start of the "real" setup. And pick files from C:\ATI\SUPPORT\
