Remote Session Auto Logout

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

This is my first time posting here.

Just got a question which I can't seems to get the answer from surfing the net.

Currently, 1 of my user logs in to her local pc, from there, she open a remote session to a server (A).

However, after a period of time, the remote session will auto-logout.

Does anyone have any suggestions/solutions?

Many Thanks in advance!!

First of all welcome to msfn :hello:

As for your problem, how does the user connect to the server? Via RDP or Terminal Sevices? Either way, the auto-logout setting is on the server side, not the user side.

Hi nitroshift,

Thanks for the welcome!

My user logs on to the server via RDP.

I've already checked on the server side, under the Active Directory users, under the Sessions tab, the values for the settings are all 'Never'.

It can also happen if there is enough of a problem with the communication between the RDP client and terminal services. (ie: dropped packets, heavy heavy traffic, etc).

A trojan burdening the connection maybe?

If you go into the Terminal Services Configuration on the server and open the properties of the RDP connection object, you should be able to see if any logout settings are configured on the "Sessions" tab.

Hi Nitroshift,

Might be. I've updated the anti-virus software and it did not detect any trojan/virus/worms.

Hi cluberti,

Are you indicating to the Terminal Services Manager? I do see a 'Sessions' tab here. But all it shows are the options for sending a message, remote control and status. When I click on 'Status', I can only click on 'Refresh Now', 'Reset Counter' only.

Many Thanks in advance!
