Colonel Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I just installed XPx64 on a new AMD x64 x2 4800+ system I built, and pinging our servers is producing wierd results. Either they come back in the > 90,000 MS range (but it only takes about a second per ping, as normal), or they come back with ~-8 ms. Yes, negative eight milliseconds.Pings were the same as other machines when we put x86 on the box... (for other reasons).Just thought I would ask as see if any one had seen this before...
Jeremy Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Your topic title is misleading. It lead me to believe you were missing ping.exe from C:\WINDOWS\system32. Please be more accurate in the future. 90,000 MS range? Sounds impossible to me. That's a strange one...
cluberti Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I'd have to suggest that you check safe mode w/ networking, because that just seems odd - like a driver issue (obviously the hardware's fine, as it works in x86 - the only real difference would be drivers).
