The Icon could be in a EXE file, so use this program to see if it is:

Yeah, me too. Those icons are totally minging.

Fortunately they provided a way to turn off the tray icon (I hate it when stupid developers use the 'Notifcation Area' as a 'Quick Launch' area) so for me that just leaves the control panel applet (which I assume would have the icon located in the .cpl file) but I've yet to look.

Check inside soundman.exe

use resource hacker to open up system32/rtlcpl.exe.... you should find them there. I was able to change mine since the originals are horrible!

i fail to find it... i change almost all the driver exe icons... and the taskbar icons still same style.. lol

clear icons cache doesn't even help... she is hidden somewhere

Has anyone had any luck finding the hiding place of this bloody ugly icon? The only trace i've found of it is inside soundman.exe, and i've changed both to no avail . Any help would be really appreciated

While you are at it take a look to see what this useless memory hog is good for. Nothing.

You can disable this program that must start up with 3 programs so you can hear the effect of a "shower stall" actual option. Save the memory.
