Non_Geek_Sam
In the interest of continuing adult education (I'm 72 years old), I'm trying to make a Windows XP Pro installation disk with SP2 slipstreamed into it. I have a Dell OEM installation disk for Windows XP Pro with SP1a already slipstreamed into it. I have read and searched for hours to learn how to make a new CD with SP2 slipstreamed in. The snag I've run into is that I cannot find anyone with an original Windows XP Pro installation disk without some form of slipstreamed service pack from which to obtain a copy of SVCPACK.IN_. Does anyone have a source for this original file?
Nicon
This file should already be in your windows xp source (I386) and this file remains the same regardless of service pack version. Ive attached the file your looking for. svcpack.zipI would also suggest you use nLite for slipstreaming service packs and hotfixes. http://www.nliteos.com/ Edited November 25, 2006 by Nicon
Non_Geek_Sam
Thanks Nicon. The OEM disk had a file "SVCPACK.INF" which one of the sites instructed me to delete from the i386 folder. However, I found no trace of SVCPACK.IN_ on the disk. Anyway, thanks for the file.
