Driver signing in Vista RTM

Use gpedit.msc and navigate to:

User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Driver Installation

and enable the "Code signing for drivers" and then choose "Ignore". It sure helped me install my Nforce audio drivers. :thumbup

Where is gpedit.msc on vista 32? tried entering it in run dialog, with no success. search of drive does not find it either. (need to play with video drivers)

Nevermind: found it is not included with VHP, Home being the key.

command line is -- bcdedit -set loadoptions \”DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS”

bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

Ok, I did this and it worked so I could install Rivatuner to check out some things with my video card.

How do I re-enable the driver signing if I want to get Vista back to where it started? Substitute EENABLE for DDISABLE?????

Thanks,

Dave

So no one knows how to re-enable the driver signing????

Unfortunately, to completely bypass this limitation you should be running x86 Vista

Why, x86 also has the Driver Signing Policy!

I should know, it popped up about sixty million times after I tried to integrate drivers into the DVD.

I hate this OS.

What's even more stupid is the Driver Signing option in GPEdit DOESN'T WORK after installing the 2 updates. The option is still there in GPEdit but doesn't actually work. :realmad:

i think MS is doing that with those updates to make a statement to those vendors which failed miserably to provide vista drivers in a timely fashion and the pressure of the customers on them instead of vista itself.
