Vista and My Documents location problem!

Featured Replies

Hy all...

I have problem with Vista RTM, I have redirected My Documents location to D:\ and then deleted D:\ partition. Now, when some of programs wants to save something to D:\MyDocuments, they can't, because D:\ is not available.

So I must restore My Documents location to somewhere on C:\, how to do this?

Right click to Start\My Documents give me no property, so I must do this on some other way, how?

Thanks!

You will need to get some type of partiton recovery program, Acronis Disk Director for example

No, my post is not about how to restore data or partition, just MyDoc location ; )

I just wanna right click on START\Documents and choose another (somewhere on C:\) location, but I cant, because when I do this I get empty properties for Documents (see att).

Insert the Vista DVD, boot from it, and choose to do a repair

It was not necessery to do repair, I have solved problem...

I have connected external USB driver, which automaticaly take first available letter - D:\, then Documents on Start menu worked justi fine, so I have changed location from D: to C:

But anyways, this is a strange problem in final release of Vista...
