monoxide Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 ok i made a xp pro unattended and when i go to install it on my pc it says it can not detect any hard drives. i have a sata hard drive from dell. does any one know why i cant install it. my friend installed it on his pc using his serial and it worked fine. im thinking maybe i deleted some thing i shouldnt have. any ideas one what i need to fix on the disk to make it install?
IcemanND Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 how is your SATA controller configured in the BIOS? There is likely a setting for native so that it will be seen by the os natively as opposed to having to add SATA controller drivers. Or you need to add the SATA drivers to your UA cd so that they are available in text mode.TIP: A more descriptive topic title may result in more assistance.
monoxide Posted November 15, 2006 Author Posted November 15, 2006 where can i get the sata drivers from?
IcemanND Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Dell, or the chipset manufacturer. What model Dell?
Incroyable HULK Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I think the same as IcemanND... you'll have to add some driver for the latest Intel SATA Controller (ICH7 or ICH8)Otherwise it is a configuration issue in the BIOS (try using legacy setting for your hard drive)TIP: A more descriptive topic title may result in more assistance.I took care of it!
IcemanND Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Download the SATA controller drivers from Intel. Check the unattended guide here http://unattended.msfn.org/ for instructions on integrating them into you UACD.
VCC Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Are you using the DriverPacks?Maybe you'll want to consider this. I'm suprised no one else mentioned this.Check out my signature for location of these. Together with the PowerPacker, it may help. It's really easy to add unsupported drivers in the DriverPacks too.
monoxide Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 i added the driver packs. ill try it later and see if it works.
