Zmidponk Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I am looking to create an XP disc that will install SP2, WMP11, IE7 plus all hotfixes and updates (think I've managed that part, testing on Virtual PC as I type). At the moment, I have an Nforce 4 motherboard, but will probably fairly shortly change to an ATI Xpress motherboard, and I'm using a SATA RAID array. If I integrate my Nforce RAID drivers into my Nlite disc, would this cause problems if I were to reinstall using this disc on an ATI Xpress motherboard?
jcarle Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Adding drivers will not remove the capability to install windows on different systems, it just adds to the already existant driver base.To integrate all of those things, do the following in this exact order:Copy your original Windows XP cd to a folder on your computer.Download the network installation of service pack 2.Run nLite, choose only Integrate Service Packs and integrate SP2.Download the Windows Media Player 11 setup package.Use the WMP11 Integrator and integrate the WMP11 setup to your xp folder.Download all the hotfixes using Windows Updates Downloader.Download the IE7 setup package.Run nLite and integrate the updates and IE7 (you integrate IE just like an update).
Zmidponk Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 Didn't see those utilities (downloaded all the updates and what-not manually using my Windows Update install history and the MS Download Centre), and I had problems with IE7 apparantly not being installed during my test, so I'll retry using the method you've described. Thanks for the reply.
