Taborda Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Hello ppl!I have a strange problem here... I have a computer which serves Internet to two other computers. This internet connection sharing always worked fine, but since a few days ago, the users of the other two computers complainted that they could only access Google sites! For example, they can access Google, Google Earth, Google Mail, but nothing more! In Google.com they can even perform a search, get the results but then can't access them! If they click a link it won't take them anywhere! As to file sharing between the computers there is no problem! We can see each others shared folders and download the contents.Do you have any idea of what might be happening? Thanks for your help!
tain Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 I don't have any experience with ICS, but isn't it just a barebones proxy with few options? Try rebooting the machines, starting with the "server."ICS is not fun. I haven't seen many people in here recommend using it.
eyeball Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) try getting the ip's of a few other sites and pinging them from the 2 machines that are going out through the ICS machine and see what happens, post your results back here. if pinging doesnt work, how far does a tracert get you?cheers Edited November 7, 2006 by eyeball
picohat Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Use nslookup program to check whether your computer can resolve URL, if it's not working, your dns might have some problems: http://www.home-network-help.com/nslookup.htmlIf works well, then use ping to troubleshoot your network, pretty easy: http://www.home-network-help.com/troubleshoot-network.htmlhope this helps..
