Shadex Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I really dont know how to explain the problem, so i'll just do my best.Any app i use when using an nLited Windows will eventually loose the "correct" keyboard (PT) and will start using the default (US).It does not affect other apps, just the one i am using at the moment. Also, if i close the aflicted app and restart it, it comes back up with the correct keybd layout (PT).It does not affect the OS itself just the apps.I tried to pinpoint when the "switch" happens, but alas, it happens at random aparently. Sometimes it goes for hours without showing, sometimes it happens in 30s.Anyone had this happening?
Ponch Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 loose the "correct" keyboard (PT) and will start using the default (US).so... is PT not set as default ?
Shadex Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 My bad, i mean XP's default language. I use a US XP (cant stand the poor/dumbass translations and late patching/updating/tools/younameit)US is default language (dont have any other anyway...), but PT is default keybd. And all apps get a PT keybd, no problem. At least at start. Then, all of a sudden, BAM! Its US layout for app x. It gets fixed by closing and runnign app again, but its a mater of time (random) until it happens again.
Ponch Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 The only thing I can see is that you'd use the Alt+Shift combination at some point to switch languages/keyboard to US/US. How about deleting the US/US from the list ?
Shadex Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 I had already set the shifting keybd combo to NONE. Funny thing tough, it didnt work anyway when it was set. No matter what i did, it wouldnt shift from one layout to another... Weird... But i did what you said and removed US keybd altogether. Lets see if it matters.
