My question is why why an ISP says its dload is 3mb/512kb... i still only upload at 30kb, just doest make since to me

512kb = kilobits

Uploading and downloading ususally its mesured in kilobytes

256kilobits = ~25kilobytes

512kilobits = ~50kilobytes

Yeah that's right, but your upload should be around 50-60KB/sec for a service that's capable of 512kbps up. You might need to call/email your ISP

It also depends on where or who you're uploading it do.

If your uploading to someone on 256k ADSL, your uploads wont be more than 30kb/sec.
