A corrupt game file, eh? Stop formatting your drive, nothing wrong with your OS. The game files are bad, plain and simple. Find a better source.

Cheers,

BSOD? What is the error code?

It is possible that data is not being properly written to your harddrive and that you may want to run a diagnostic on it by booting to CD with Ultimate Boot CD v3.4 and running the appropriate tool depending on which brand your HD is.

Good luck! :hello:

It is not one program, it is a collection of extremely useful utilities all free.

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)

A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didn’t catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

Upgrade your BIOS if necessary, and just go to the UBCD homepage to review the utilities it contains.
