Changing the registered license name

My dad finished my new laptop Windows XP installation by himself.

Mistakenly he registered it under his name.

How may I change it?

open ur Registry Editor (Regedit.exe)

locate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

change information under Key

RegisteredOwner

and

RegisteredOrganization

Start > Run > notepad

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
"RegisteredOwner"="YOUR DESIRED NAME HERE"

Save as... RegOwner.reg

But it didn't change the folder name under "Documents And Settings". How can I smoothly change that as well?

Create a new admin user and then delete the old one.

u have to add a new user of ur name (control panel -- user accounts) and delete the old one
