delete file after period of time

How i can delete file after 7 days, i mean: i will send file to my friends and i want the VB file to delete it after 7 days.

i'm using visual basic 6

If you can get VB to call a command-line program, then you can use delen. It has this type of functionality built-in.

I don't know about the OP, but I backup a weeks worth of files and then want the older archive files erased after a week, thus only keeping the 7 newest backups.
