prx984 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 i know, stupid question, but i have one lol i was wondering if its possible to re-add, if possible, the internet explorer core/frontend if its been removed from windows in the nLite portion of making the disk. i removed it and chose to go with firefox, but thats eating up more ram than i saved with removing the core, so i was wondering if its at all possible to do so.i have tried to re-install IE6 but it comes back and says i have a new version already installed. so thats that done, but im sure theres a way to reinstall it. maybe a simple registry change?thanks for reading
r3incarnat0r Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) Try also Opera Browser. Anyway, maybe you could "install" IE back via XPLite. Edited October 22, 2006 by r3incarnat0r
Camarade_Tux Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Try Reg/FileMon : they will tell you how the installer knows you have a more recent version.Have you tried to install IE7 ?
prx984 Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 sorry, i didnt tell you i was running 2000 pro lolbut i think im just going to stick with the firefox/opera combination im currently using. opera is a lot faster than firefox, so i will stick with this ill keep playing around with it. maybe ill try 2000/lite (if that exists )
TheTOM_SK Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 (edited) Have you tried to install IE7 ?This is not possible. I was not able to instal IE7 RC1, when I removed IE core.So far, I keep IE core and I remove IE6 only, after clean instalation I instal IE7.By the way removing IE core slows down WinXP noticeable, I wonder, who does it?
