Strange Occurences....

Recommended Posts

Any idea what this could be caused by? I am using the hacked uxtheme.dll, but it has never cause me problems before. I've slipstreamed the hotfixes into the install using webmedic's lil batch file, that all worked fine on my last test install. Only thing new I've done this time is edit the WINNTBBU.DLL file as per the pinned topic. I've tried replacing that file with the original & rebooting... no go. I've tried restoring the uxtheme.dll... no. I've created a user acct using NET USE... that acct has the same symptoms. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I'd recommend looking back through the threads for the MS approved method.

I've looked at medic script, though it does seem to appear correct, i've seen the same behaviour randomly as components are added, removed

whether a flaw in the script or the installers handling of, I cannot determine quite yet and I will add in its defense. it is an intermittent failure. So don't blame the script or the OS yet.
