d6rth7ader Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 (edited) Group Policy Editor?I am wondering if anyone has tried editing the group policy before? Is there any way so that I can have a group policy for a particular group, but not all the users (administrators, power users and other users) sharing the same policy?e.g. I would like to hide the C: for users but not the administrators which I used to set it in gpedit.msc console.I would also like to know if there will be a way to edit or customise the group policy applied to a particular predefined user group, e.g. powerusers, as I have no idea to know about what rights and restrictions they have._______________ituloy angsulong | Article Submission | Article Directorywashington divorce | washington state divorce Edited November 6, 2006 by d6rth7ader
Ctrl-X Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 It's possible to apply GPO's to certain groups. To get you started: Enterprise Management with the Group Policy Management Console.
Takeshi Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 Are you talking about local computer or domain?
SorceruS Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Hi guys,I have also been wondering about this. What I would like to do is set restrictions in group policy that only affect the Limited User accounts on a local machine and leaving the Administrator accounts with no restrictions. Is it possible in some way to prevent the Administrator accounts from applying the User Settings in group policy when they log in?This is for a kiosk project I am involved in and the machine will not sit on a domain of any kind. Thanks
