Without reading the whole page I'm going to assume it's just a modified version of the bootable sector of a cdrom. Instead of pointing to the i386 folder it will point to another folder so that you may have multiple operating systems stored on 1 disc.

dhdan is coorect.

Its th MS Boot Sector of a CD (referred as PRO1.DAT, etc ) in flyakite's guide. Indeed, it should point to a custom folder.
