network passwords losing after reboot?

I use a local network based on one router and two 8 port switches, total 10 computers connected. Recently after some useless experiments with WinXP on my main machine I get back to Win2k SP and each time I access first another network machine drive it ask me for a password!

And after reboot again - could anyone tell me, witch services/settings could affect that, please? I run a HIGHLY optimized these XP machines services, but it worked using XP, so the fault is probably on my side - so, what service is need to store these passwords?

Yes, it running. The question - does it need to run on the other machines too?
On each machine that needs to remember the password. So, yes.
One one or two it run, on other, folding ones, it not running.

****. What that could be? :angel

I don't have a clue what you are saying here

TAiN - so, I checked and even on the folding machines these services are running in automatic mode all the time. So the problem must be somewhere else. I fear that it was the HDD problem (the Maxtor disk utility says it fixed it?) I had recently. Now I trying XP for testing if I get my reader to work and no, nope. It did not working

So thanks, I hope I can report 100% functionality when I get back to W2k later
