Welcome screen

Hi, can anyone tell me how to get my account that had my name to click on , back on the welcome screen?

I get the welcome screen, but its has no accounts on it. There was only my name which was my account. It's not there now. hugs,

cant remember this from the top of my head but there is something in the registry i believe that conrols this. google it and you should find it

I found where it said to go to the registry and ad the DWORD then rename it, and set it to 1 instead of 0, but now i get my welcome screen to show my name like before but now it also shows the administrator as well, which i don't want it to show the administrator. I noticed that the word administrator isn't listed in the list of where they said to go. oh well i will keep looking how to get admin off now. and just keep me. hugs,

Open your registry and find the key below.

System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\

SpecialAccounts\UserList]

Value Name: Administrator

Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)

Value Data: (1 = show Administrator)

You should see DWORD value, if so, modify the existing value to 0.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

is absent by default. Just delete it. It's the same as changing the value to 0 but why leave it there?

There is no administrator in the list. I tried that, also i put administrator in and selected 0 and then just the welcome screen comes up, but not my account that has my name on it. I loose that if i type in a admin and the dword to 0. So now any other suggestions. hugs,

I suspect you did something wrong there.

What reg key exactly did you edit?

You rename what? The account name?

I added my name, and then up came on the welcome screen, my name account which i wanted, and admin account that i didn't want. I had put in admin which was in the list and set it to 0 but when i did, it removed all acounts from the welcome screen. So rather than fight it for days, i just took the computer back with norton ghost that i had an image of. So all is well now. hugs,
