Reg Key to Disable Windows Firewall on just 1 NIC

Anyone know what Registry key is used to Disable the Windows Firewall on just 1 of the Network cards on my system. I did a RegShot/before/after compare and could not find it.

Many thanks,

MrChris

Have a look:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Setup

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network

All I see in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Setup

is a DWORD with a Value Name of ServiceUpgrade with a data value of 1.

I thought I gave you enough clues to have a look.

Have a look at the subkeys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Setup\InterfacesUnfirewalledAtUpdate

I think with FW on the DWORD for each adaptor is 1.

Then identify the CLSID using the 2nd key.

I can't give you every bit of info as it varies from computer to computer.

Thanks for the info. Now I understand. I didnt have the InterfacesUnfirewalledAtUpdate anywhere under the key SETUP.

Thanks, again.

Then I'm not sure. I have four entries in mine and they match those seen in the 2nd key and in Network Connections.

You might want to try this: if you have a NIC installed, search the registry for local area connection (or whatever), then find the CLSID and see what shows.
