WinXP Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 The Explorer.exe is not initiated with the Windows, already I verifiedkey "SHELL" in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, but the problem continues.
MagicAndre1981 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 what OS, what SP?did you apply all updates? Did you create a cd with nLite? if yes, post your lastsession.ini.what did you see on startup?
WinXP Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 I am using Windows XP Pro SP2. I am with all updates in day. I did not use the nLite to make the installation. The Windows simply does not show no information when initiating, for example: it does not load theicons and bar of tasks.
Takeshi Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Open Task Manager or Run and run explorer.exe from there and see if it will start.Create a new account and see what happens.
WinXP Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 I typed Explorer.exe in the Task Manager and is initiated, already I created a new user and exactly thus it does not function.
WinXP Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 UP! somebody could help me in this question?
Takeshi Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 The Explorer.exe is not initiated with the Windows, already I verifiedkey "SHELL" in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon, but the problem continues.Looking at this key alone is not sufficient to determine if everything is OK. You need to look at a full startup list to see if there's anything else.If creating another acc doesn't solve it then it's a problem not specific to the user.So either do it the hard way (finding the culprit) or the easy way (repair/sfc/reinstall).
WinXP Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 I understood, exists some another key that I can be seeing?
Camarade_Tux Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Yes : in HKCU not HKLM...Shell is session-dependant; it is not set for all accounts.
Aegis Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 He already created a new user account, so that's not the problem.
aresgodofwar Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I am also experiencing this problem. Windows XP PRO SP 2did not use nlitewhen logging in, all i get is wallpaper. no icons, no taskbar. and it seems to be intermittent. if i bring up task manager and end the explorer process, then rerun it, then the taskbar and icons appear. I'd like to avoid reinstalling/repairing windows. If anyone has anymore suggestions, please post them!
