ahhdball Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Has anyone here ever looked into these certs? I've been debating them for a couple weeks now and want to know if it's worth it and the amount of time it took you (personal experiances etc....)Just curious...http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/offi....asp#office2003Thanks!
tain Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 These won't let you compete with the bigger/tougher certs but will set you apart from people with no certs at all (depending on how the employer views certs).I heard that these aren't very tough. It is really a personal decision...lots of people have strong feelings about certs and whether or not they are worth any effort at all.Find out what your potential employers are looking for in the way of qualifications and then develop your cert/education/experience plan around that.
ahhdball Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 Thanks TAin - I'm going for (and have) other larger certs currently but I thought that it'd look good on my side business' website, plus give me a larger scope of knowledge. I mean the training kit is only $25 so I figured I'd go for it. The main reason I started looking into this was a potential customer asked if I could manipulate their MS Access db. I got no freaking clue about Access so I thought it'd be cool to get certified in it plus other MS Office sw. knowhatimean?
tain Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Sounds like these are just what you need then. Plus, even having just one of these lets you legitimately say "I'm Microsoft Certified!" But don't try to brag about these to your geek buddies...
