bele Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Hi guys! I have installed win xp pro, the systemdisc was E: (dont remember why i did that, anyway). I tried to install a s***ty program that only wanted to install to C: . So i changed the drive letter on sysdisk to C: (with PM8), rebooted, all seemed good, but when I try to logon it just logs me off again.. Looks like its something wrong with the user profile.... I have access to the harddrive and registry remote... Any ideas ?Thanks for all support.....
LLXX Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 You should've just edited the program instead of taking a chance and messing up your XP install...
Takeshi Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 There're registry keys to change if you want to change the drive letter of the OS drive (there's a KB on this) and PM is not the tool to do it safely. Also the page file location might be wrong. It might be possible to fix these but TBH it'd be quicker to repair or reinstall.
