slappynutz
This may have already been answered but how do you turn off system restore in the RIS image. I don't want it installed at all on my machines.
theunknown
im not aware of a method to remove it completely, however in my RunOnceEx.cmd i use this line...REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\srservice" /f /v Start /t REG_DWORD /d 4Essentially it disables the service so when XP starts for the first time post install, system restore is disabled.regards, theunknown
Ctrl-X
Can be done through a GPO (Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / System Restore / Turn off System Restore) or by changing the corresponding registry value:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\SystemRestore]"DisableSR"=dword:00000001XP only!
