unfortuneately, its not that simple.

if you remove something with nLite from an XP install cd that you need, your up the creek. in most cases, youll have to find the driver/file you need on the net, or remake the cd without taking that file out.

You won't find it on the net unless you know exactly which file to put back in. It's not for download as it's an integrated part of xp so microsoft weren't expexting that a genius like nuhi would come up and find a safe method to take it out.

Unfortunately for you, nlite mods the source so Windows thinks that nothing is missing, a fresh reinstall.

Wrong forum. Howz about you use the nlite forum for nlite issues?

you might be able to just when it looks for the driver, point it at a full xpsp2 cd, well the I386 folder from one, and see if it finds it..

edit..

inf-file responsible for battery-apm is battery.inf

take the inf from an unpatched cd and unpack it with:

expand BATTERY.IN_ -r

then copy the following files from the unpatched cd:

battc.sys

hidbatt.sys

apmbatt.sys

battc.sys

CmBatt.sys

SMBBATT.sys

depending on your apm-version you might also need BATT.DL_

setup will ask for this file if needed.

finally install the inf over "add new hardware" wizard (use have-disk" option

this should do - hopefully

hope this helps!
