rrr Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 (edited) Hi, I'm a first time poster.... I have an HP Pavillion 510n, w/Celeron 1.2G, 512MB ram, running XP SP2, with all OS updates from MS update. After about an hour of use, the screen and mouse will freeze. After ~1 minute, the screen will go black, and the machine will not respond. I then power it off (holding the power button down), and power back up. Most of the time I will get a "recovered from a serious problem" box on powerup. When I click the "send error to Microsoft" button, I get a web page (Online Crash Analysis page) saying that the problem is "likely due to a problem with the Intel graphics controller", and it gives a link to "go to Intel.com to get the fix". When I go to the link, there is nothing there about fixing the problem. I have an 82810E graphics controller and I updated the driver (to ver 6.7, 6.13.1.3196), thinking that this was the problem, but it still shows the problem. Any idea what could be wrong? thanks! LLXX Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 i810 integrated graphics are usually quite reliable... they don't overheat like the higher performance cards.I'm thinking this might be more of a processor overheating problem. Try cleaning the heatsink/fan.
N1K Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 It could be overheating, try to install some app which will monitor your processor temperature or troubleshoot hardware problems..Can you see something in event log?

Try cleaning the heatsink/fan.I doubt it. As soon as I turned on the machine this morning the problem occured (within 3 minutes). But I will see if cleaning it will help. LLXX Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 The temperatures are fine.Try removing all the video devices (in the Device Manager, view hidden devices) and reinstalling your driver.http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...al〈=eng
