ERROR: OLE initialization.

Description of the problem: Hi, i downloaded playchess.com software

http://www.fritzserver.org/PlayChessSetup.exe (about 12Mb), installed it and then i get 2 errors,

first: after executing .exe file i get Error: Ole initialization, then,

after i click "ok">Login>Create New Account i get second error message:

playchess.com (build May 19 2006) performed an exception:

"Access Violation,73DB36F8, 2, 2"

Read at 00000000

I already wrote to support but they dont know what to do

From Googling it sounds like it isn't supported by Windows XP.

That error maps to "ERROR_SXS_XML_E_INVALID_VERSION", and since the extension on the file giving the error is .com, that means it's running 16bit code. I'd say either run it in application compatibility mode with a previous version of Windows selected, or update the application to a 32bit version.

I second the notion that this may not work properly under XP since it's a 16bit app.
