DirectX 9.0b problems!

Featured Replies

During an unattended installation i get this message when it tries to initiate the installation of DirectX 9.0b:

"Invalid commandline Switch"

I simply use the commandline

start /wait %systemdrive%\install\applications\dx9b\DirectX9\dxsetup.exe /opk

What do I do wrong?! :)

you need the hex-edited dxsetup.exe file from the site. The one included in the directx9 redist has the silent install switches disabled.

Okay, but what do I need to edit... what will need to be changed?

I take it that i open the setup.exe-file in a hex-editor (I have absolutely no experience in this area).

Wow, thanks :)

But this is for the internet installation, isn´t it?

I have downloaded the non-internet version of the program an put it on my (until further completion) virtual CD.

Is there a way to fix this version?

this is for redistributable version, so just replace yours, you will need to unpack the dx install you downloaded, then to replace the file...

Looks like you were doing everything right...you just had the wrong version of Direct x 9b.....so download from the link given, replace the version you were using, and it'll work.
