doing a clean install vs an upgrade is not something I mind doing, in fact it often saves time in the long run by avoiding future problems. Although I would agree these upgrade paths are a bit confusing. Of course Vista has to improve greatly from its recent builds before I even consider installing it on my computer

I think this will help bring users to a more tech minded level. Dispite how it may be but i think it i sbest. Better to have two HD's or two partitions.

One for OS/Apps

Two for Docs.

who upgrades? i mean seriously? i did that years back when i went from 98se to xp and it was nothing but problems.

Regarding the this detail pan for upgrade, Microsoft also released a beta program that tells you what is compatable or if you are compliant for Vista. If you are not or a specifc componet(s) is not then it will provide you a link for compatiable parts, or if updated drivers are needed.
