using xp pro as a server

wanting to host a chat on my system and need to change something so xp will work like a server ..

anyone that knows what and or how to do this would you please let me know..

You can serve 10 PCs. There's a registry entry that you can change to serve more, but you run into system instability. Which is why win server is server. Many things in it are streamlined for handling many ppl.

You can serve 10 PCs.

That limitation only applies to IIS (in practice it'd be <10 PCs) but not to third party programs, I think.
