How can I use nLite to remove NNTP

Recommended Posts

I was using nLite to remove components I don't want off my server disk because all it's doing is adding more vunerabilities which means I have to keep adding patches, and hotfixes all the time. It also takes up memory which means I can't add really cool software like OpenOffice, and other big software into the disk instead of the vunerability junk components I don't need.

I want to know how I can remove almost everything except the services I need, or want with nLite?

I now found the source of the villian. NNTP is in a file called INS.CAB in W2AIS_EN\I386

Ha I got you NNTP. It has a bunch of nntp files heck the whole darn cab file is full of NNTPs. Should I delete INS.CAB and remove reference from all .INF files?

Checked it and this component is in the IIS already.

Just remove IIS with nLite and it will be gone.
