theme problem after integrating hotfixes

Hi,

After i integrated some hotfixes, i have had several problems with for instance the "Windows XP Style" And also the default sounds in Windows XP.

It looks like they are no longer renamed from the 8.3 notation to the normal filenames.

For instance the file C:\WINDOWS\Media\XPDing.wav still exists when the installation is ready, but it should have been renamed to C:\WINDOWS\Media\Windows XP Ding.wav

This is also the case with the file C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Luna\luna.msstyles which is called Luna.mst after installation.

Hm, can you please find the lines containing those files in the i386\txtsetup.sif file and post them here.

I don't see how normally this could have happened. Did you integrate any addons or hotfixes?

Hi,

Here are some of the lines from txtsetup.sif

XPBalln.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPBalln%

XPBatCrt.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPBatCrt%

XPBatLow.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPBatLow%

XPBlkPop.wav = 100,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPBlkPop%

xpclres1.dll = 1,,,,,,,,3,3

XPCrtStp.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPCrtStp%

XPDef.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPDef%

XPDing.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPDing%

XPError.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPError%

XPExcl.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPExcl%

XPHdFail.wav = 1,,,,,,,26,0,0,%XPHdFail%

luna.mst = 100,,,,,,,68,0,0,luna.msstyles

metal_ss.dll = 1,,,,,,,78,0,0,shellstyle.dll

blue_ss.dll = 1,,,,,,,69,0,0,shellstyle.dll

class_ss.dll = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0,shellstyle.dll

These are all files that were not renamed. However, when I manually rename the files everything is working again.

Personally, I do not see anything strange here.

I only added some hotfixes, nothing else.

That's simply impossible if that exact txtsetup was in motion.

Do you install from winnt.exe or boot from cd, if you don't boot try that.

Oh...the old nemesis.

Why not boot from it?

I tried several times to recreate the issue but it was ok for me...probably I would need that PXE environment and all...I tried by booting from virtual floppy and then running winnt.exe.
