Change Language for Windows XP SP2

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a problem with the Regional and Language Option, the unattended cd that I make is fine on install windows xp sp2, but one thing that is really annoying is whenever i want to change the language at the advanced tab on the Regional and Language Options, it always ask me to insert Windows XP CD, in which the Language is already install on the computer. All I need to do is to point it back to C:\Windows\Font, and it will do the usual thing (restart as per say).

But next time when I try to change another language (say, English) it ask me insert the Windows XP CD again (which the language is install by default).

Its not a pain to insert the CD, but is there any possible way to fix this?

This is what I have in my WINNT.SIF

[RegionalSettings]
Language=00000c01
LanguageGroup=13,7,8,10,9,12,1
SystemLocale=00000c01
UserLocale=00000c01
InputLocale=0409:00000409
UserLocale_DefaultUser=00000c01

c01 = Arabic

409 = English

13,7,8,10,9,12,1 = Asian, complex script, European languages.

So, I install all languages on earth. This is just for the sake of Windows not to ask me, one day, to insert my CD!!

But, for a dual keyboard and for tweaking regional settings, I run this reg file at T-13 (SVCPACK.INF) to get them applied for every user.

The dialogue that asks you to insert the CD gives you the option to use existing files (if you have previously installed that particular language). You can choose to skip the CD. I don't think you can get rid of this dialogue (and restart) altogether even if you install every language at the outset.

Nope, its not that dialogue, it ask me stright for insert the Windows XP cd, instead of asking for overwrite the existing file

P.S. yeah, its pretty a pain to install every language out of the windows xp cd, since not all the people use all the language provided over there
