Need help customizing some settings

Featured Replies

I'm trying to find a way to customize WinXP to get My computer, My Network, and my Docs on desktop and to change the default icons to a smaller icon for all folders. I tried compared with regsnapshots but can't seem to get it working. Anyone got this?

if you use the classic start menu when you re-forrmat your computer my documents, my computer and my network places will automactilly been on the desktop.

Otherwise use the COPY or XCOPY command to create a link for the Document and Settings Folder on the C drive.

To have My Computer, My Documents and My Network Places on Desktop import this registry entries:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]

"{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

"{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}"=dword:00000000

"{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

:)
