Upgrade(update) from windows xp pro(32) to xp pro(64)

I need some help upgrading with out formatting. I stick the x64 cd in during windows, and it says boot from cd rom. i tried doing this and all it wanted was to replace the whole windows, not really upgrade it.

Any help would be nice. Thanks

To me you can't upgrade but perhaps you could manually do it.

you cant upgrade it, you have to do a clean install

unfortunately... make sure you ghost or somehow backup your existing win installation, maybe you will want to revert later...
