I strarted getting these messages, "svchost.exe Appliction Error" followed by "The instruction at---------- referenced memory at ----------. The memory could not be 'written' " At the same time I started getting a DEP error message telling me that it had to close the application, "Generic host process for Win32 services"

I've run 3 diferent virus scans-nothing

tried the blester fix anyway because many like problems were related to the blaster worm--nothing

4 different registry scans--nothing

Windows CD/repair--nothing

chkdsk after using Windows CD to get C prompt--nothing

disabled everything from startup tab of msconfig--nothing

disabled everything except MS stuff from "Services" tab in msconfig--nothing

All of the things tried had no seemed effect on the problem.

Typing in address bar then "Go" in IE 6 goes nowhere. Must use search engine. Did get better results when I installed IE 7

Windows Explorer takes 30+ seconds to return a view when I click on "My Computer"

I will wipe and reinstall if I have to but I strongly desire to know the why's before I do

Please help!
