unzipping files

This will be a very basic question for all of you, but I am a complete newbie and I am trying to understand the following:

after downloading and extracting files with XP wizard, I end up with a screen full of icons that are displayed . I do not know how to upload ( if that is what it is called) this information to a website.

I have been downloading ebooks and havent any idea what to do, after i have extracted the files.

I would greatly appreciate some help. Thank you Enart

usually what youll want to do when your unzipping a file with the XP compressed folder wizard, is when you get to the second page itll have a question asking where you want to extract the files to, in that little text box type something along the lines of "C:\TempDir" (change TempDir to whatever you want) this will extract the files to a folder on the root of your harddrive (which you can view by clicking Start ---> My Computer ----> Local Disk (C:) ) in that folder will be all the files that were in the zip file and then you can do whatever it is you need to do with them. thats pretty much the easiest way.

id tell you another way of doing everything, but im unsure of how your computer is setup because everyone has a different way of doing things.
