I created my own shellstyle.dll how do I use it on my unattended CD? What file do I put it in? John

shellstyle means ?

does this mean whole visual theme,, or just shellstyle.dll

For Visual Themes:

U need to have patched UXTHEME.DLL for third party visual themes,,

then place ur theme inside

$OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes\(urtheme)

Then give ur theme settings in winnt.sif as

[shell]

DefaultStartPanelOff=No

CustomDefaultThemeFile="%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\urtheme\urtheme.msstyles"

For Shellstyle.dll

Go to $OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes\energy_blue\Shell\NormalColor

then replace original shellstyle.dll with yours.. or rename original shellstyle.dll as shellstyle.dll.old and place your shellstyle.dll

(Here i have taken energy_blue theme as example)

You can do it with ur own favourite theme

I have this folder structure on my DVD:

e:\HFSLIP\$OEM$\$$\Resources\---------------> is where my theme file is:Golden.theme

e:\HFSLIP\$OEM$\$$\RESOURCES\themes\Golden-------> is where my visual styles are:Golden.msstyles

e:\hfslip\$OEM$\$$\media\ ---> has all my sounds

e:\hfslip\$OEM$\$$\cursors---->has all my sounds

you dun need to modify ur .theme

just place as it is

and u may try this in ur running system..

does the ColorStyle = NormalColor have anything to do with with where the shellstyle goes?

ie:

%windir%\Resources\Themes\Golden\Shell

or should I use

%windir%\Resources\Themes\Golden\NormalColor\shell?

My Shellstyle.dll is in the E:\hf\SOURCESS\$OEM$\$$\Resources\Themes\Golden\Shell\Shellstyle.dll

must be

of cource u have to apply it,,

or use some script to load it automatically..

for me,,

i use autoIT script to load any theme automatically in my Unattended installation of XP

Where do I put the shellstyle.dll, if it says I am using a modified theme? I have sent along a file showing this! John
