solidstan Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I have upgraded to xp64 and now my internal pc speaker doesnt work.I need for skype, so i have a ring sound when my speakers are off or headphones are in.Used to work with xp but not xp64????My pc speaker works when i test it in DOS!any help much appricated!!THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
markajm Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 look under device manager - system devices.do you have a "system speaker" listed?if not you won't get sound from it.did you install the drivers for your motherboard/chipset?
ripken204 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 yep, its all drivers there. im not sure if your mobo manufacturer even has a driver for it so u may be out of luck, but check just in case.

Thanks for that guys!I have system speaker under device manager.The propities are:-General(tab) - Device status - no driver installed for this deviceDriver(tab) - Driver Provider - Microsoft - Driver Date - 10/1/02 - Driver Virsion - 5.2.3790.1830 - Digital signer - Microsoft windows publisherDetails(tab) - Properties - Device Instance Id - Value - ACPI\PNP0800\3&2411E6FE&0Resources - I/O Range - 0061-0061Anyone know if these are correct??? ???General(Tab) no driver installed???Thanks again guys for putting me on the right track!
ripken204 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 if thats the only device with an error, then thats most likely it. and it says no driver installed, so...so now all u need to do is find the driver for it. what mobo do u have?
