Creating Tablet Edition

Hey all,

I have a Tablet, but no media for it. I have XP Pro, but I do not know the files and such to make it the Tablet Edition of XP. I was wondering if there was a way using nLite or similar to create a Tablet version, using XP Professional. I want to create a bootable CD, not create the Tablet version from an existing install, as there is one of those guides already. I want to do a clean install, but I want to use a single CD for this, as I am pretty sure the Tablet Edition is only one disc.

Thanks for any help! :)

So, the way to do it would be to install XP Pro and then use the guide to 'force' it to be the Tablet Edition? If that's so, then I think I will try it that way.

If anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to let me know.

Hello

It's possible to add MCE extension to windows XP Pro, with some modifications into .inf files etc. (Look at forum)! So it could be possible to add Tablet PC extension too, but without tactyle screen or something else, the aim is not very clear !

Why do you want transform xp to tablet pc ?

=> Try alternate solution, recognize software, graphic tablet etc.. ?

Well, I have a Tablet PC that came with no media, and I want the Teblet Edition of XP. I want to do a clean install, and/or an nLit install. So I want to take an XP Pro image and add all the Tablet functions such as pen recognition and writing and all that good stuff.

Although, I think I can get it for free from my tablet manufacturer. I'll check into that.

There are some differences, but you can run regular XP on a Tablet just fine and add on most of the tools. Tablets came to the market before there was a "tablet pc edition" after all. However, on our tablets we install tablet edition now that it's out.......works better with the built in tools/tweaks.
