xMugen Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I had a PowerBook awhile back, but now I have a Dell Inspiron. I have always loved Microsoft, especially XP, but in all honesty, I miss one aspect of my PowerBook a whole great deal. The Dashboard of the OS X is awesome. More accurately, I really want to clean up my desktop, and I want a certain feature that Mac has. At the bottom of the Dashboard, on Macs, there is a sort of application (I'm not exactly sure what it's called) that acts like a blind, where the icons for certain applications can reside. This feature can be hidden, so the desktop can be completely cleared. That's what I want for my Dell. So, I came here to ask if there was anyone who knew how I could accomplish this. I don't really want to change my interface all that much; I just want to be able to dock my icons in that manner. If anyone can help, I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time!Title edited -- Please, use [TAGS] in your topic's title.--Sonic
LLXX Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Quick-launch toolbar? It's on the taskbar to the immediate right of the start button.
Zxian Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Have you looked at AveDesk? It's what a lot of people use to emulate a LOT of features from Macs. The next version is in testing right now, and it's pretty wicked - lots of bug fixes and just generally a lot easier to use.
