Opening A Folder problems (WIN XP Prof)

Hello everyone,

for some stupid reason, everytime i double click on any folder a command prompt window opens.

when i right click on a folder the first (and obviously, default) option (in Bold) is "Open Command Window Here".

googling around for the past half hour, here's where i finally stand;

i went to Tools>Folder options>File Types

there were two types of folders --> 1. (NONE) File Folder

2. (NONE) Folder

Under 'File Folder' i had the following options; (Advanced)

Enqueue in winamp

Play in winamp

Add to winamp's bookmark list

find

open command window here

scan for viruses using Escan

OF THESE, NONE OF THESE WERE 'BOLD'...

Under 'Folder' i have the following options:

explore

open

OF THESE, NONE OF THESE WERE 'BOLD' either...

IF i right click on any folder these are the options that i have;

Open command window here (in BOLD)

scan for viruses using escan

search...

add to winamp's bookmark list

enqueue in winamp

play in winamp

open

explore

sharing and security...

winzip

copy to folder...

move to folder...

send to...

create shortcut

properties

so for some reason open command window here has been chosen as the default option, and i need to urgently DISBALE it.

plz help !!!

regards

p.kay

Start the registry editor, open Folder subkey under the classes root, select shell subkey and change the default value in the right pane to "open".

Also check Directory subkey for the similar.
