patrick_kay Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Hello everyone,for some stupid reason, everytime i double click on any folder a command prompt window opens.when i right click on a folder the first (and obviously, default) option (in Bold) is "Open Command Window Here".googling around for the past half hour, here's where i finally stand;i went to Tools>Folder options>File Typesthere were two types of folders --> 1. (NONE) File Folder 2. (NONE) FolderUnder 'File Folder' i had the following options; (Advanced)Enqueue in winampPlay in winampAdd to winamp's bookmark listfindopen command window herescan for viruses using EscanOF THESE, NONE OF THESE WERE 'BOLD'...Under 'Folder' i have the following options:exploreopenOF THESE, NONE OF THESE WERE 'BOLD' either...IF i right click on any folder these are the options that i have;Open command window here (in BOLD)scan for viruses using escansearch...add to winamp's bookmark listenqueue in winampplay in winampopenexploresharing and security...winzipcopy to folder...move to folder...send to...create shortcutpropertiesso for some reason open command window here has been chosen as the default option, and i need to urgently DISBALE it. plz help !!!regardsp.kay
LLXX Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Start the registry editor, open Folder subkey under the classes root, select shell subkey and change the default value in the right pane to "open".Also check Directory subkey for the similar.
hougtimo Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 when you get a cmd prompt, navigate to your system32 directory and type "regedit.exe"
